설득 (제인 오스틴) 줄거리

이야기는 외모와 가문을 자랑으로 여기는 아버지 월터 엘리엇 경이 빚에 몰려, 대대로 살아온 켈린치 홀을 세놓고 바스로 이사하는 데서 시작됩니다. 저택을 빌리기로 한 사람은 크로프트 제독인데, 놀랍게도 그의 아내는 웬트워스의 누나였습니다. 앤은 여동생 메리가 시집간 어퍼크로스에 머물며 머스그로브 집안 사람들의 이야기를 들어 주는 역할을 맡습니다. 그런 가운데 전쟁에서 공을 세워 출세하고 재산까지 모은 웬트워스 대령이 누나 부부를 만나러 찾아옵니다.
