이즈미 시키부란?
사랑에 살았던 헤이안의 천재 가인
이즈미 시키부는 헤이안 시대 중기의 여성 가인으로, 정열적인 사랑 노래로 유명합니다. 중궁 쇼시를 모셨고, 무라사키 시키부와 같은 시대를 살았습니다. 햐쿠닌잇슈에 실린 「이 세상을 떠나 저세상에 가져갈 추억으로」 노래의 작자입니다.
제3화 『이즈미 시키부 일기』에서는 세상을 떠난 연인 다메타카 친왕을 그리워하던 중, 그의 동생 소치노미야에게서 귤꽃을 받고, 노래를 주고받으며 새로운 사랑이 시작됩니다. 망설이면서도 사랑을 키워 가다가 마지막에는 친왕의 저택으로 맞아들여집니다. 제11화 「기부네의 반딧불」에서는 연인의 발길이 끊겼을 무렵 기부네 신사를 찾아가, 냇가의 반딧불을 보며 「시름에 잠겨 보니, 늪가의 반딧불도 내 몸에서 빠져나간 넋인가 싶구나」라고 읊었고, 신에게서 답가가 왔다고 전해집니다.
『이즈미 시키부 일기』는 자신을 「여인」이라 칭하며 쓴 이야기풍의 일기로, 이즈미 시키부 본인이 썼다는 설이 유력합니다.
