Who Is Louisa Musgrove?
The lively, strong-willed younger sister
Louisa Musgrove is the younger of the two Musgrove daughters and Charles Musgrove's sister. She is bright and energetic, the kind of person who acts on her ideas right away.
When Captain Wentworth arrives, she and her sister Henrietta are captivated by him and beg for stories of the sea. On a walk, Wentworth praises Louisa's strength of mind, comparing it to a firm hazelnut that has stayed on the tree when all the others have fallen. Anne overhears his words from the other side of a hedgerow.
Later in the novel, Louisa's determination ends up changing the course of the story in an unexpected way.
