Who Is Wilhelm Grimm (Brothers Grimm)?
The younger Brother Grimm who polished the tales
Wilhelm Karl Grimm
Wilhelm Grimm (1786–1859) was a German philologist and the younger of the Brothers Grimm. Together with his older brother Jacob, he collected Grimm's Fairy Tales.
After the first edition, the collection went through many editions, and the 1857 edition is considered the final one. It is said that Wilhelm was mainly the one who refined the writing with each edition, making the tales easier for children and families to read. In this manga, he appears in the framing scenes, and at the end of the story he says he wants to make a book that children can read — a hint at how the book will grow in the future.
In 1825 he married Dortchen Wild, one of the storytellers who had shared tales with the brothers.
