阿弥陀寺住持（阿弥陀寺和尚）是谁？
用经文守护芳一的和尚
阿弥陀寺住持是「无耳芳一的故事」中的僧人，他欣赏芳一弹琵琶和说唱的才华，让芳一住在寺里，照顾他的生活。
住持察觉芳一每晚都偷偷外出，便派寺里的杂役跟踪，这才知道芳一是被平家的亡灵召去了。他担心再这样下去芳一会丢掉性命，就和弟子小和尚一起在芳一全身写满《般若心经》，并叮嘱他：「无论谁叫你，都绝对不要应声，也不要动。」有了经文，亡灵就看不见芳一的身体；但因为耳朵上没有写经文，芳一的耳朵还是被夺走了。
第二天早上，住持发现流着血的芳一，自责没有确认耳朵上是否写了经文，向芳一道歉，并请来医生为他治疗。弟子小和尚也作为和住持一起写经文的人物登场。
