二條后（藤原高子）是誰？
昔男所愛的高貴女子
二條后指的是藤原高子，她後來成為清和天皇的妃子，也是陽成天皇的母親。一般認為，《伊勢物語》中昔男的戀愛對象，描寫的正是年輕時的她。
第1話〈芥川〉中的女子，是在深宅中長大、不曾見過夜晚原野和露水的千金。被男子帶出門後，她看著草上的露水問「那是什麼？」，卻在倉庫中消失了。原典後段揭曉，這是二條后年輕時的故事，所謂的「鬼」，其實是把她帶回去的哥哥藤原基經與藤原國經。第8話〈月非昔月〉中住在西廂的女子，通說也認為是高子；她在正月遷往男子無法觸及的地方。
昔男與高子這段因身分懸殊而被拆散的戀情，是《伊勢物語》中最有名的故事之一。
