安·艾略特是珍·奧斯汀小說《勸導》的女主角，準男爵華特·艾略特爵士的次女。她27歲，聰慧、溫柔又明理，卻得不到父親和姊姊的重視，在家中總是被冷落。
19歲時，她與海軍軍官菲德烈·溫特沃斯訂婚，但如同母親般的羅素夫人勸她「這樣對他也沒有好處」，於是她解除了婚約。此後八年，她一直思念著他。故事中，父親決定出租莊園，安便到妹妹瑪麗居住的上克勞斯暫住，並在那裡與飛黃騰達的溫特沃斯重逢。他冷淡的態度和那句「判若兩人」讓她受傷，但她仍靜靜地面對自己的心意。
