Who Is Isukeyorihime (Himetataraisuzu-hime)?
Daughter of a god and Emperor Jimmu's chief queen
Isukeyori-Hime
Isukeyorihime is the daughter of Omononushi, the god of Mount Miwa, and Seyadatarahime, a maiden called "the child of a god." She became the chief queen (principal wife) of Emperor Jimmu.
When seven maidens were out walking at Takasajino, Isukeyorihime was at their head. Okume conveyed the emperor's feelings to her in a song, and she teased him in verse about his tattooed, sharp-looking eyes; in time she and the emperor were united. She bore three princes. After the emperor's death, when their half-brother Tagishimimi plotted against her sons, she hid a warning of the danger in two songs to alert them.
According to the Kojiki, her original name was Hototatarai-susuki-hime, but she disliked it and changed it.
