Who Is Lynette (Linette)?
The guide who never stopped insulting Gareth
Linet
Lynette is the maiden who serves as guide on the quest of Gareth (Beaumains). In Malory's original, her name is spelled Linet.
In Episode 7 of this manga, she comes to Arthur's court asking for help because her sister Lyonesse's castle is under siege by the Red Knight. But when she learns that the one sent with her is a kitchen boy, she is furious and insults him all the way, calling him a 'kitchen knave' and a 'dish-washer.' Still, as Gareth keeps winning in silence, she comes to see his nobility and apologizes.
The way this sharp-tongued guide slowly changes her mind about him is one of the highlights of the story.
