拉塞尔夫人（罗素夫人）是谁？

拉塞尔夫人是安妮已故母亲的挚友，也是埃利奥特家几个女儿的商量对象。三姐妹中她最珍惜安妮，一直像母亲一样守护着她。
八年前，19岁的安妮与没有财产的海军军官温特沃斯订婚，拉塞尔夫人认为“她太年轻，前途也让人担心”，于是表示反对，并劝说安妮解除了婚约。书名《劝导》正是由此而来。故事开头，她为债务缠身的沃尔特爵士拟定了切实可行的节约方案，还和安妮一起担心随行去巴斯的克莱夫人。
