Who Is Sahobiko (Saho-hiko)?
The brother who ordered his sister to kill the emperor
Sahobiko-no-Miko
Sahobiko is the full brother of Sahobime, Emperor Suinin's queen, and a prince who rebelled against the emperor.
He told his sister, "If you truly hold me dear, let the two of us rule the land together," and handed her a much-forged dagger on a cord, ordering her to stab the emperor while he slept. But his sister confessed to the emperor, and the plot was exposed. Sahobiko shut himself up in a fortress built of stacked rice bales, was surrounded by the emperor's army, and in the end was killed.
Because his sister had entered the fortress, the emperor's army could not attack right away. The story also shows the emperor, unable to act out of love for her.
