Who Is Nike?
Goddess of victory at Zeus's side
Nike is the goddess of victory in Greek mythology. A daughter of Styx and Pallas, she is called "fair-ankled" in the Theogony.
Together with her siblings Zelos, Kratos, and Bia, she was brought by her mother Styx and was the first to rush to Zeus's side. For this, Zeus granted them the honor of always living with him and going with him wherever he goes. It shows that victory is always on Zeus's side.
She is often shown with wings, and the statue known as the Winged Victory of Samothrace in the Louvre is famous. The sportswear brand also takes its name from this goddess. In Roman mythology she corresponds to Victoria.
