Seven fairies sent to pick the peaches
The Seven Fairy Maidens in Seven Colors are seven fairies who serve the Queen Mother of the West. They are named for their robes in seven colors: red, blue, white, black, purple, yellow, and green.
Coming to the Garden of Immortal Peaches to pick fruit for the Peach Banquet, the maidens wake Wukong, who has been sleeping in a tree. When he asks who has been invited to the feast, they honestly list the gods and buddhas and tell him they have not heard the Great Sage's name among them. Offended, Wukong freezes them in place with a binding spell and heads straight for the banquet.
Their answer sets off the great incident of Wukong wrecking the Peach Banquet.
