Who Is the Demon King of Havoc?

The Demon King of Havoc is a demon in Journey to the West who lives in the Water-Belly Cave on Kanyuan Mountain, north of the Mountain of Flowers and Fruit. While Wukong is away learning magic, he attacks the monkeys, steals their belongings, and carries off their young.

After being expelled by Patriarch Subhuti, Wukong returns home, hears what happened, and immediately flies to the Water-Belly Cave on his Somersault Cloud. He plucks out some of his hairs, chews them, and blows them out to turn them into countless little monkeys that surround the Demon King's minions. Then he kills the Demon King with a sword taken from the demon himself.

This is the first time Wukong uses his newly learned powers in a real fight. Afterward, he arms his monkeys and begins training them as soldiers.
