Who Are the The Six Brothers of Plum Mountain (Seven Sages of Plum Mountain)?
Erlang Shen's sworn brothers in battle
The Six Brothers of Plum Mountain are six warrior gods who are Erlang Shen's sworn brothers. They are the four marshals Kang, Zhang, Yao, and Li, and the two generals Guo Shen and Zhi Jian; together with Erlang they are called the Seven Sages.
While Erlang fights Wukong one-on-one, the six brothers lead soldiers called the Grass-Headed Gods in an attack on the Water Curtain Cave and scatter the monkeys. At the end, when Wukong is knocked down by the Diamond Snare, they help Erlang pin him down and tie him up with rope.
They appear again with Erlang Shen later in Journey to the West, helping Wukong and his companions defeat a demon.
